1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website.

They can be used to make websites work, maintain secure sessions, remember preferences and understand how a website is used.

2. Strictly Necessary Cookies

These may be required for functions such as:

  • security;
  • authentication;
  • account sessions;
  • checkout; and
  • essential website operation.

Strictly necessary cookies may be used without consent where permitted because they are necessary to provide the requested service.

The cookies currently set on grassrootsfunding.co.uk are:

  • gfd_session: keeps you signed in to your club account. Set only when you sign in. It lasts up to 7 days (12 hours for staff accounts) and is removed when you sign out.
  • __cf_bm: set by Cloudflare, which our hosting provider uses to protect the website from automated abuse. It expires after 30 minutes.

3. Analytics Cookies

If analytics are enabled, analytics technologies may help us understand how visitors use Grassroots Funding so we can improve the service.

Where consent is legally required, non-essential analytics cookies must not be set until consent has been provided.

We do not currently use analytics cookies.

4. Payment and Third-Party Technology

When customers use functionality such as checkout or authentication, relevant technology providers may use cookies necessary to provide their functionality, security or fraud prevention.

Payments are taken on a secure checkout page hosted by Stripe. Stripe may set cookies on its own pages for security and fraud prevention, under Stripe's own cookie policy.

5. Cookie Consent

Where non-essential cookies requiring consent are used, users must be able to accept or reject them.

Rejecting non-essential cookies must not prevent use of the core Grassroots Funding service.

We do not currently use any non-essential cookies, so we do not ask for cookie consent.

6. Managing Cookies

Users can also control or delete cookies through their browser settings.

Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent functions such as login or checkout from working correctly.

7. Changes

This Cookie Policy may be updated when the website or technologies used change.
